Lost (Perdidos) é uma série de televisão norte americana de drama, que começa com o acidente de um avião, que saiu de Sidney , Austrália com destino a Los Angeles, Estados Unidos, mas que caiu numa misteriosa ilha tropical em algum lugar do Oceano Pacífico. A série tem um estilo único que segue dois tipos de histórias não ligadas entre si: primeiro, a luta dos 48 sobreviventes do desastre para sobreviver e viver juntos na ilha, e segundo, a vida das personagens principais, antes do desastre, através de retrospectivas pessoais, os flashbacks.

O Clube dos Poetas Mortos

Filme do realizador australiano Peter Weir, O Clube dos Poetas Mortos trata de um grupo de jovens numa escola tradicional e conservadora, de New England, nos anos 50.

Um novo professor de inglês (Robin Williams), com métodos pouco convencionais, vem abalar as convicções dos jovens estudantes. Estes são influenciados pelas ideologias liberais que os impelem a criar algo seu, de forma a deixarem uma marca própria no mundo. A poesia é assim a forma de expressão mais nobre dos sentimentos. Por todo o filme, vários são os apelos do professor para que os jovens não desperdicem cada dia.

A expressão latina Carpe Diem, surge assim como o mote para uma história que relata não só esta filosofia, mas também a dificuldade de afirmarem os seus desejos futuros devido à imposição conservadora quer dos pais, quer da escola. O personagem Neil (Robert Sean Leonard) é o exemplo paradigmático disso mesmo, apesar de ter o apoio do seu colega de quarto Todd (Ethan Hawke), acaba por se suicidar por não conseguir convencer o pai a aceitar o seu talento para o teatro, impondo-lhe a medicina. Esta obra pode ser considerada como um marco contemporâneo, enaltecendo a lealdade, a poesia, os sentimentos e a vontade de sugar todo o tutano da vida.

O Jogo
